Bear Den
Bears are in 3rd grade or 8 years old.
Cub Scouting was modeled on The Jungle
Book by Rudyard Kipling. Like Mowgli's
experienced guide, Baloo, Bears are the guides
for their younger Cubs in the pack. They set the
example and lead the way. Bears always look forward
to earning their Totin' Chip, allowing them to carry a knife for the first time in Cub Scouting.
Like all Cub ranks, caregivers (Akelas) are permitted to work with their Scout on adventures and sign off that the Cub satisfactorily completed the requirement by trying their best.

Bear Adventures
Bears have both Required and Elective adventures. Click on each adventure to see its requirements and activities. Required adventures are typically completed at Den meetings. Elective Adventures can be completed either as a group or at home with the assistance of caregivers.
